Merchant marks in Castile and Europe, 15th-16th centuries

Merchant Marks in Castile and Europe, 15th–16th Centuries, written by Ibán Redondo Parés and published by the Museo de las Ferias in Medina del Campo, presents a pioneering study that analyzes the functions of these marks as signs of identification for merchants (which at that time operated as an identification logo), certification of product quality, indication of geographical origin, as well as their presence in numerous works of art. This book is the result of years of research reflected in the author’s doctoral thesis. The study was carried out within the framework of the project “Description and Documentary Study of the Trademarks in the Simón Ruiz Archive” and is currently available in digital format through the platform of Editorial Marcial Pons.
